Portland

My husband travels--a lot--for work.  What was described as "once a quarter" has so far proven to be "at least five times a quarter."  Most of the time I stay home with the kids, but sometimes we all go as a family.  After taking care of the house and kids for six days, the boys and I drove the three hours to Portland to spend the weekend hanging out in the city.  Of course I visited Bolt and Cool Cottons.  I only bought a tiny bit of fabric though--nothing exciting.

We spent the majority of Saturday at the Oregon Zoo (which is a reciprocal zoo of Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium so if you are a member you get a 50% discount--sweet!)  Be forewarned though, if you visit a zoo in the springtime, be prepared to answer such exciting questions as "Mommy, why are those two meerkats dancing?" and "Mommy, what is that thing sticking out of the giraffe's stomach?"  Ahem.
