Sewing Kit (and Giveaway!)

Sewing Kit
Originally uploaded by Tiny House
One of my little sisters sews, but she's always schlepping her stuff between her house and our parents'. So I decided to make her a little sewing kit that she could use to contain everything, as well as a few new supplies. Buttons, thread, and scissors are all handy, but so is a nice handmade pincushion and needlebook, I think.

Since she loves ladybugs, I used a pretty chocolate and aqua print from Tula Pink's Flutterby collection, and on the bag a bit of some Japanese linen tape I had squirreled away. The needlebook is made from 100% wool felt and a pretty glass button.

I really like how this project turned out, so much that I would like to give one away (bag, needlebook, and pincushion!) I'm all out of the ladybug fabric, so you'll have your choice of these fabrics:

Yellow Sprouts

Pink Sprouts, or

Yellow Flowers

Just leave a comment (make sure I can contact you!) with your fabric choice I'll pick a random winner next Tuesday (January 13th!)

I am glad I found your wonderful site, I am new to sewing. I have been looking for resource for fabrics, how-to have and such. So I was glad to see the fabric you used with the designer name. So please count me in for yellow sprouts.

Thank you.

Love it! and would LOVE to win! As you already know, I'm so fond of those Flea Market Fancy prints, and to tell you the truth, I don't even have a pin cushion, so this would be super helpful! It really looks like a great little kit you put together - so nice of you to share!

What a great gift (and giveaway!) Having recently lamented the fact that I can never find a needle (normally just keep them on random spools of thread) I think this kit could be the perfect way to stay organized. Yellow flowers is my favorite. thanks!

How beautiful, and how generous. I would definitely put something like that to good use. All the fabrics are terrific, but I think my favorite is the pink sprout. So glad I found your site!

That was such a nice thing to do for your sister. Everyone could use a cute and functional sewing kit. Either of the fabric choices you offer would be great.
