Sale!

I'm having a little sale to clear out older items, and make room for new things. I'll be adding more as the weekend progresses, so check it out!

The Swap Goods

The Swap Goods
Originally uploaded by Tiny House
I've been out of town for awhile, and back home for a few days, and I'm just now catching up. Do you know the feeling? The holidays are busy, that's for sure, but when you add a stomach bug, a cold, a wedding, my first "photo shoot" (LOL--I played photographer for my brother's wedding with my new toy,) holiday crafting, and a Thanksgiving dinner for 16 into the mix, you're looking at insanity.

Anyway, I'm back, and back on the blogosphere.

I'm participating in a "Mini Quilt in a Bag Swap," where we send our partner a little bag of goodies, which we will then use to create a mini quilt to send back to our partner. Pretty cool!

Taking a break

This week I'm heading over the mountains and through the woods to help prepare for my brother's wedding. I'm bringing a basket of crafty things I need to work on, but not my computer. So no blogging for me. See you soon!

History

All evening long Bug and I ran around the house, he playing with trucks and his mama working on a quilt. Every once in awhile he would stop and shout, "Woo!" or "Obama!"

I let him stay up last night to see our new president accept his title. We saw two incredible men give two incredible speeches: both gracious and inspiring. We saw people around the world celebrating our country's decision. We saw half a million people be completely silent. We saw men and women, young and old, realizing that they could do anything. We witnessed acceptance and tolerance. And it was amazing. Bug - most appropriately - started to fall asleep at the end of President Obama's speech, when I was feeling the safest I'd felt in awhile.

Some day, I'll be able to tell him how we witnessed the most crucial Presidential race in history. And how his mama hoped and prayed for change, so that she could rest assured that she was doing the right thing, bringing him and potentially another child into this world, and how it finally happened.

And guess what? Last night I slept the longest and best that I'd slept in weeks.

Sleep

I love you, but I also love sleep. I'm tired.

Did you know it's Daylight Saving's Time today? Yep, that's right--we get an extra hour of sleep. Well, we should have had an extra hour of sleep, I should say. And why did you sleep in yesterday, when it was Daddy's turn to get up with you? Come to think of it, why do you sleep in every time it's Daddy's turn, but you get up super early when it's Mommy's turn? Huh?

Mommy loves you, but please don't bug her before her first cup of coffee. I mean it. Mommy's tired.

I mean it.

Where did I put my coffee?

Yes, you can watch Curious George fifteen times in a row, as long as I can sleep.

No, Daddy is still sleeping, so please refrain from a screaming tantrum. No, please do not throw your big fire truck. What's that? That's a fire truck. Seriously. Now you want to know what a fire truck says? It says "woo woo." Now seriously, Mommy needs her coffee. She didn't go to sleep until 1AM last night. Why's that? Because she has a migraine.

Bug, I love you. But again, leave me alone until I've had my coffee. Can you get your own breakfast today? And while you're at it, please stop banging your metal pots and pans against your wooden play food! It really aggravates my migraine. Where's my Tylenol?

No, it's too early to go to the park. It's raining. It's too wet. I said no! We can splash in the puddles later.

Oh, here's my coffee, in the refrigerator. Yum. Cold coffee and Tylenol, breakfast of champions.
