Recent Finished Objects

Almost everything I've sewn lately has been for other people!

I've reopened my Etsy shop--it's stocked with some crayon rolls and large box bags.  I'm hoping to get some more items photographed soon so that I can put them in the shop.

I'm in love with improve patchwork lately!  The green pillow was made for my shop, but was sold when I posted a few things on Instagram.  It is 14" square.  I love it, and think I need a few for the house.  I also made potholders--holding myself to a silvery-grey color scheme for my aunt's kitchen.  Then I went crazy and made a cover for my kindle.  It's amazing and vibrant.  And as soon as I posted that, a friend requested a cover for her Galaxy tablet, in the same style.

I made a couple of Open Wide Zipper Pouches.  I love this pattern (well, I love all of the Noodlehead patterns I've made so far.)  I gave them away two a couple of besties for Christmas!  I put in some nice lotion and chocolate, and I think they made awesome gifts.

I'm hoping to sew more soon, but with speech and occupational therapy, swimming and piano lessons, and school schedules, my time is so limited right now.  I'm really looking forward to the quilting retreat coming up next weekend!!!  Two nights and three days with my awesome quilt guild, on Vashon Island!!!  I guess I'd better start packing!

The Shop is Open!

Shop Update!

I've added a few new items to the shop today--including Mother's Day cards!





Oh, and if you need a gift for her *wink wink* I have a few pretty flower bobby pins, as well as some lovely jewelry...




Or maybe Mom likes to carry things around with her, you know in little pouches or drawstring bags?

New Fall Items

A few new items have gone into the shop recently. A new green patchwork bag, and two new styles of crayon rolls, perfect for fall!

It's a Random Sort of Day

First off, let me just say that we STILL don't have an answer on our house yet. Bank is taking it's sweet time. We looked at two more houses today, one of which I LOVED, but it's a little out of our intended area, and I think we've decided that the short sale house is the best option for us.



And, my tomatoes are taking over the world. Seriously, they are giant. I only have three plants in the ground, but they are slowly eating up all the space in my tiny little garden.

Also, I've placed some items in my shop on sale, as I'm hoping to clear off some shelf space to make room for new fall projects!

Finally, Noro Kureyon + A Bug's Life + a happy almost three year-old = a happy mama.

New Paintings in the Shop

Mushroom Painting

Remember these paintings? I finished the first two, plus a third, and framed them for a little triptych which I think would look cute in a nursery, kitchen, or craft room.

I used watercolor and ink on cold press watercolor paper. Each painting measures about 4" x 6", and the frame is 7" x 14.5". Each is signed (though you can't see the signatures when they're framed--need to plan better next time.)

It's listed in the shop for a very reasonable price--especially for three originals!

I've also uploaded a cute little cupcake painting, and I've been painting more!

Loving Making

I'm loving the process of making these cuffs. I love sifting through my vintage button, lace, and ribbon collection, finding just the right pieces to layer together into something beautiful to wear. Light and summery, yet would still be perfect for a colder day. I'm finding these cuffs to be a go to item to add just the perfect something to my outfits.

New Items in the Shop!

And this is a custom order for a friend--she requested one of my sewing kits. I hope her mom likes it!

Shop Update!

I just added a bunch of new items to the shop, including a new line of fabric collage notebooks and cards.





I'll be heading to the post office everyday this week to get Mother's Day cards and gifts out on time!

New Item in Shop: Fabric Covered Buttons!

I've listed six sets of fabric covered buttons in the shop!

All fabrics are Japanese imported cottons, covering brass buttons, with shank backs.

It's my Etsy-versary Month, so I thought I'd have a little sale! All items (excluding wholesale orders!) are 25% off until the end of April--You can either wait for a revised invoice, or I'll refund the 25% to your PayPal account.

I can't stop making these! They're fun to put together, and great for using up half yards of fabric that I don't have any other plans for.

Fresh Spring Purse!

I had this idea in my head this morning, and was amazed that it came together on the first try!

I combined denim, cotton, vintage lace, and a vintage doily to make this bag. It's the perfect size to hold all you need to bring with you, including a couple diapers and wipes (if you're into that sort of thing.) Otherwise, it could hold (in addition to your everyday items) a knitting project, or a sketchbook and pencils...whatever it is that you bring with you! It's in the shop now, along with a lot of destashing stuff (books and fabric right now.)

I want to make another one in colors that are more "me" so I have a new Spring bag too!

First Day of Spring!

It's the first day of spring today! Yippee!

Here's the progress I've made so far on two quilts:

First up, here's Bug's quilt that I've been working on for ages. I realize it's just squares pieced together, nothing fancy, but for some reason it's taken me forever to get it done. I still have two rows of squares to add to this, plus a border. (Moda Recess)



And here's my Flea Market Fancy quilt. I'm nearly halfway done with the piecing, then I'll have to figure out a back...it's the largest quilt I've made so far--should cover my king size bed. Yey!



This is a new zipper pouch I added to the shop today. I'm really loving making these doilies into something a bit more useful.



I'll also be adding a bunch of new crayon rolls to the shop!



Oh, and Mom and I are confirmed for the Indie Banditas Bazaar in June! Woohoo!

Hello Mole

Upcycled Embroidered Necklace

I've been working on some new items for the shop, and one of the results is this necklace. It's made from a bit of a vintage embroidered table runner, which I layered on two pieces of wool felt. I suspended it from a velvet ribbon, which has a toggle clasp to close it. I absolutely love this necklace, and made one for myself. I'll show that one soon.

New Banner and Photos

I'm slowly updating my shop--not necessarily with new items, but with a new look. I've made a new Spring '09 banner, which is posted at the top of my blog and my shop. I'm also uploading new photos of all my items, trying to go for a more consistent, as well as "artsy" look. Right now the first 11 items are updated. What do you think? (Be nice--I'm learning (um, slowly?) on the product photography/image manipulation part here...) :O)
